When should I apply?
The deadline for application is June 15, 2008
I live out of town and want to come - do you provide overnight accommodations?
No - but we will help you find a place to stay - however it will be your (or your parents) responsibility. Contact us through the web site.
Online Application - What is the box for hosting?
We have had some requests from all over to come - however we have no overnight accommodations. If a family would be willing to host an out of town jazz student - we will happily put them in touch and the two families can work out the details.
I see that you list the ages from 8th grade to 12th grade. I would like to come but am going to be a sophomore in college - can I apply?
We are really open to all that want to be a part of this experience. If you are not with the stated age group - just contact us through the web site for case by case determination - hey - we've got to plan too!
I'd like to come but my parents don't have the money - what can I do?
Contact us - and have your strongest case prepared - letters from band directors, hot mp3 file, tax stuff, unabashed pleading, etc. We plan on having some limited scholarship help available.
We have a band and would like to come as a group - is that possible?
Again contact us - send a demo - you just might find out that you learn more by playing with people that you don't know. Maybe - Maybe not - we'll work with you.
Is sending a demo necessary?
Well - sending a demo helps us to figure out placement in an ensemble. We're really anxious to get the ensembles playing as soon as possible - so we'd rather have ensembles set for Monday morning rather than spend that valuable time in the world of assessments.
I play jazz bagpipes. Will there be a teacher for me?
Our goal is accommodate everyone's needs - ya never know!
What about lunch?
Lunch hour will be at the Deer Head Inn. We strongly urge you to pack a lunch. We do not provide food. Beverages will be available for purchase.
